The Son Gives Knowledge and Rest

²⁵ At that time Jesus said,^(A) “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants.^{(B) 26} Yes, Father, because this was your good pleasure.^{[a] 27} All things have been entrusted to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son desires^[b] to reveal him.^(C)

¹⁶ “Blessed are your eyes^(A) because they do see, and your ears because they do hear.^{(B) 17} For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see the things you see but didn’t see them, to hear the things you hear but didn’t hear them.^(C)
