The Escape to Egypt

¹³ Now when they had gone, behold, an ^(A)angel of the Lord *^(B)appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up! Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you; for Herod is going to search for the Child to kill Him.”

¹⁹ But when Herod died, behold, an angel of the Lord *^(A)appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, and said,

²² But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Then after being ^(A)warned by God in a dream, he left for the regions of Galilee,

²⁶ And ^(A)it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not ^(B)see death before he had seen the Lord’s ^[a]Christ.

²² They said, “Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and ^(A)God-fearing man well spoken of by the entire nation of the Jews, ^(B)was divinely directed by a ^(C)holy angel to send for you to come to his house and hear ^[a](D)a message from you.”

⁵ who serve ^(A)a copy and ^(B)shadow of the heavenly things, just as Moses ^[a]was ^(C)warned by God when he was about to erect the ^[b]tabernacle; for, “^(D)See,” He says, “that you make all things by the pattern which was shown to you on the mountain.”

⁷ By faith ^(A)Noah, being ^(B)warned by God about ^(C)things not yet seen, ^[a](D)in reverence ^(E)prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of ^(F)the righteousness which is according to faith.
