²⁷ “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs,^(A) which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and every impurity.

²¹ I fear that when I come my God will again^[a] humiliate me in your presence, and I will grieve for many who sinned before and have not repented^(A) of the moral impurity, sexual immorality,^(B) and promiscuity^(C) they practiced.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are obvious:^[a][b] sexual immorality,^(A) moral impurity,^(B) promiscuity,^(C)

¹⁹ They became callous and gave themselves over to promiscuity for the practice of every kind of impurity^(A) with a desire for more and more.^[a]

³ But sexual immorality^(A) and any impurity^(B) or greed^(C) should not even be heard of^[a] among you, as is proper for saints.

⁵ Therefore, put to death what belongs to your worldly nature:^[a] sexual immorality, impurity,^(A) lust,^(B) evil desire, and greed,^(C) which is idolatry.^(D)

³ For our exhortation didn’t come from error or impurity^(A) or an intent to deceive.^(B)
