32 (A)And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, named Simon: him they [a]compelled to bear his cross.
33 (B)[b]And when they came unto the place called Golgotha (that is to say, the place of dead men’s skulls)
34 [c]They gave him vinegar to drink, mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.

- Matthew 27:32 They compelled Simon to bear his burdensome cross, whereby it appeareth that Jesus was so sore handled before, that he fainted by the way, and was not able to bear his cross throughout: for John writeth that he did bear the cross, to wit, at the beginning.
