³ Then the tempter approached him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”^(A)

⁶ and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written:

⁶¹ stated, “This man said, ‘I can destroy the temple of God^(A) and rebuild it in three days.’”

⁶³ But^(A) Jesus kept silent.^(B) The high priest said to him, “I charge you under oath^(C) by the living God: Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”^(D)

¹⁹ Jesus answered, “Destroy this temple,^[a](A) and I will raise it up in three days.”^(B)
