^2 (A)Therefore when thou givest thine alms, thou shalt not make a trumpet to be blown before thee, as the ^[a]hypocrites do in the Synagogues and in the streets, to be praised of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.

⁷ As every man ^[a]wisheth in his heart, so let him give, not ^(A)[b]grudgingly, or of ^[c]necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
