4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to (A)the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, (B)because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered with Mary, (C)his betrothed [a]wife, who was with child. 6 So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. 7 And (D)she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a [b]manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem(A) the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him(B) and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
