Micah 5:2-4
International Standard Version
The Ruler from Bethlehem
2 [a]“As for you, Bethlehem of Ephrathah,
even though you remain least among the clans[b] of Judah,
nevertheless, the one who rules in Israel for me
will emerge from you.
His existence has been[c] from antiquity,
even from eternity.
3 Therefore that ruler[d] will abandon them
until the woman in labor gives birth.
Then the rest of his countrymen will return to the Israelis.”
4 “Then he will take his stand,
shepherding by means of the strength of the Lord,
by the power[e] of the name of the Lord his God.
And they will be firmly[f] established;
indeed, from then on he will become great—
to the ends of the earth.
Micah 5:2-4
New International Version
2 “But you, Bethlehem(A) Ephrathah,(B)
though you are small among the clans[a] of Judah,
out of you will come for me
one who will be ruler(C) over Israel,
whose origins are from of old,(D)
from ancient times.”(E)
3 Therefore Israel will be abandoned(F)
until the time when she who is in labor bears a son,
and the rest of his brothers return
to join the Israelites.
