4 He will stand and shepherd them(A)
in the strength of Yahweh,
in the majestic name of Yahweh His God.
They will live securely,
for then His greatness will extend
to the ends of the earth.(B)
5 He will be their peace.(C)
When Assyria invades our land,(D)
when it marches against our fortresses,
we will raise against it seven shepherds,
even eight leaders of men.
6 They will shepherd(E) the land of Assyria with the sword,
the land of Nimrod(F) with a drawn blade.[a]
So He will rescue us(G) from Assyria
when it invades our land,
when it marches against our territory.

and march through our fortresses.
We will raise against them seven shepherds,

6 who will rule[a] the land of Assyria with the sword,

He will deliver us from the Assyrians
when they invade our land
and march across our borders.(H)
