17 They shall lick the dust like a serpent; like crawling things of the earth they shall come trembling out of their strongholds and close places. They shall turn and come with fear and dread to the Lord our God and shall be afraid and stand in awe because of You [O Lord].(A)
18 Who is a God like You, Who forgives iniquity and passes over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He retains not His anger forever, because He delights in mercy and loving-kindness.
19 He will again have compassion on us; He will subdue and tread underfoot our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.(B)

like creatures that crawl on the ground.
They will come trembling(B) out of their dens;
they will turn in fear(C) to the Lord our God
and will be afraid of you.
18 Who is a God(D) like you,
who pardons sin(E) and forgives(F) the transgression
of the remnant(G) of his inheritance?(H)
You do not stay angry(I) forever
but delight to show mercy.(J)
19 You will again have compassion on us;
you will tread our sins underfoot
and hurl all our iniquities(K) into the depths of the sea.(L)
