17 They will lick the dust like a snake;(A)
they will come trembling out of their hiding places(B)
like reptiles slithering on the ground.(C)
They will tremble in the presence of the Lord our God;(D)
they will stand in awe of you.
18 Who is a God like you,(E)
forgiving iniquity and passing over rebellion(F)
for the remnant of his inheritance?(G)
He does not hold on to his anger forever(H)
because he delights in faithful love.(I)
19 He will again have compassion on us;
he will vanquish our iniquities.(J)
You will cast all our[a] sins
into the depths of the sea.(K)

and will be afraid of you.

who pardons sin(E) and forgives(F) the transgression

You do not stay angry(I) forever
but delight to show mercy.(J)
19 You will again have compassion on us;
you will tread our sins underfoot
and hurl all our iniquities(K) into the depths of the sea.(L)
