The Lord is slow to anger but great in power,

    to escape punishment.
He makes his way in whirlwind and storm,
    and the clouds are the dust beneath his feet.
He rebukes the sea and leaves it dry,

Bashan and Carmel wither,
    and the greenery of Lebanon fades.[a]
The mountains quake before him,
    and the hills dissolve;
the earth collapses before him,
    the world and all who live in it.
