Nahum 2:7-9
International Standard Version
7 It has been determined:
The woman[a] is unveiled and sent away,
her servant girls mourn.
Beating their breasts,
they whimper like doves.
8 Nineveh is a reservoir whose water is draining away.
“Wait! Wait!” they cry,[b]
yet not even one person[c] looks back.
9 Take the silver! Take the gold!
There is no end to the treasure—
fabulous riches of every imagination.
Nahum 2:7-9
New International Version
7 It is decreed[a] that Nineveh
be exiled and carried away.
Her female slaves moan(A) like doves
and beat on their breasts.(B)
8 Nineveh is like a pool
whose water is draining away.
“Stop! Stop!” they cry,
but no one turns back.
9 Plunder the silver!
Plunder the gold!
The supply is endless,
the wealth from all its treasures!
