Support of the Levites’ Ministry

44 On that same day men were placed in charge of the rooms(A) that housed the supplies, contributions, firstfruits, and tenths.(B) The legally required portions for the priests and Levites(C) were gathered from the village fields, because Judah was grateful to the priests and Levites who were serving.(D) 45 They performed the service of their God and the service of purification, along with the singers and gatekeepers,(E) as David and his son Solomon had prescribed.(F)

44 At that time men were appointed to be in charge of the storerooms(A) for the contributions, firstfruits and tithes.(B) From the fields around the towns they were to bring into the storerooms the portions required by the Law for the priests and the Levites, for Judah was pleased with the ministering priests and Levites.(C) 45 They performed the service of their God and the service of purification, as did also the musicians and gatekeepers, according to the commands of David(D) and his son Solomon.(E)

44 And at that time were some appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the portions of the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites that waited.

45 And both the singers and the porters kept the ward of their God, and the ward of the purification, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son.
