^26 (A)“Nevertheless, they were disobedient and rebelled against you ^(B)and cast your law behind their back ^(C)and killed your prophets, who ^(D)had warned them in order to turn them back to you, ^(E)and they committed great blasphemies. ^27 (F)Therefore you gave them into the hand of their enemies, who made them suffer. ^(G)And in the time of their suffering they cried out to you and you heard them from heaven, and according to your great mercies you gave them ^(H)saviours who saved them from the hand of their enemies.

^8 (A)Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, ^(B)but everyone walked in the stubbornness of his evil heart. Therefore I brought upon them all ^(C)the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but they did not.”

^10 (A)and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God by walking in his laws, which he set before us by ^(B)his servants the prophets. ^11 (C)All Israel has transgressed your law and turned aside, ^(D)refusing to obey your voice. ^(E)And the curse and oath ^(F)that are written in the Law of ^(G)Moses the servant of God have been poured out upon us, because ^(H)we have sinned against him. ¹² He has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us and against ^(I)our rulers who ruled us,^[a] by ^(J)bringing upon us a great calamity. ^(K)For under the whole heaven there has not been done anything like what has been done against Jerusalem. ^13 (L)As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this calamity has come upon us; yet we have not entreated the favour of the Lord our God, ^(M)turning from our iniquities and gaining insight by your truth. ^14 (N)Therefore the Lord has kept ready the calamity and has brought it upon us, ^(O)for the Lord our God is righteous in all the works that he has done, and ^(P)we have not obeyed his voice.
