^12 (A)All the ^[a]best of the fresh oil and all the ^[b]best of the fresh wine and of the grain, the first fruits of what they give to the Lord, I have given them to you. ^13 (B)The first ripe fruits of all that is in their land, which they bring to the Lord, shall be yours; everyone of your household who is clean may eat it.

⁴ Also he told the people who lived in Jerusalem to give ^(A)the portion due to the priests and the Levites, so that they might devote themselves to ^(B)the Law of the Lord. ⁵ As soon as the ^[a]order spread, the sons of Israel abundantly provided the first fruits of grain, new wine, oil, honey, and of all the produce of the field; and they brought in abundantly ^(C)the tithe of everything. ⁶ The sons of Israel and Judah who lived in the cities of Judah also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and ^(D)the tithe of ^[b]sacred gifts which were consecrated to the Lord their God, and placed them in heaps.

¹⁰ Azariah, the chief priest ^(A)of the house of Zadok, said to ^[a]him, “^(B)Since the contributions started coming into the house of the Lord, we have had enough to eat with plenty left over, for the Lord has blessed His people, and this great quantity is left over.”

³⁵ and so that they could bring the first fruits of our ground and ^(A)the first fruits of all the fruit of every tree to the house of the Lord annually, ³⁶ and ^(B)bring to the house of our God the firstborn of our sons and of our cattle, and the firstborn of our herds and our flocks as it is written in the Law, for the priests who are ministering in the house of our God. ^37 (C)We will also bring the first of our ^[a]dough, our contributions, the fruit of every tree, the new wine, and the oil ^(D)to the priests at the chambers of the house of our God, and the ^(E)tithe of our ground to the Levites, for the Levites are they who receive the tithes in all the rural towns.
