²⁴ The people rise like a lioness;^(A)
    they rouse themselves like a lion^(B)
that does not rest till it devours its prey
    and drinks the blood^(C) of its victims.”

⁹ You will break them with a rod of iron^[a];^(A)
    you will dash them to pieces^(B) like pottery.^(C)”

⁵ Let your sharp arrows^(A) pierce the hearts^(B) of the king’s enemies;^(C)
    let the nations fall beneath your feet.
