38 The sons of Benjamin by their families were the family of the Belaites from Bela, the family of the Ashbelites from Ashbel, the family of the Ahiramites from Ahiram, 39 the family of the Shuphamites from Shupham, and the family of the Huphamites from Hupham. 40 The sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman, the family of the Ardites from Ard, and the family of the Naamites from Naaman.

38 The descendants of Benjamin(A) by their clans were:
through Bela, the Belaite clan;
through Ashbel, the Ashbelite clan;
through Ahiram, the Ahiramite clan;
39 through Shupham,[a] the Shuphamite clan;
through Hupham, the Huphamite clan.
40 The descendants of Bela through Ard(B) and Naaman were:
through Ard,[b] the Ardite clan;
through Naaman, the Naamite clan.
