38 The sons of Benjamin by their families were: by Bela the Belaite family, by Ashbel the Ashbelite family, by Ahiram the Ahiramite family, 39 by Shephupham the Shuphamite family, by Hupham the Huphamite family. 40 The sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman. By Ard was the family of the Ardites, by Naaman the family of the Naamanites.

38 The descendants of Benjamin(A) by their clans were:
through Bela, the Belaite clan;
through Ashbel, the Ashbelite clan;
through Ahiram, the Ahiramite clan;
39 through Shupham,[a] the Shuphamite clan;
through Hupham, the Huphamite clan.
40 The descendants of Bela through Ard(B) and Naaman were:
through Ard,[b] the Ardite clan;
through Naaman, the Naamite clan.
