^17 (A)who may go out before them and go in before them, who may lead them out and bring them in, that the congregation of the Lord may not be ^(B)like sheep which have no shepherd.”

¹⁷ Then he said, “I saw all Israel ^(A)scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. And the Lord said, ‘These have no master. Let each return to his house in peace.’ ”

^5 (A)So they were ^(B)scattered because there was no shepherd; ^(C)and they became food for all the beasts of the field when they were scattered.
