¹⁶[And] Moses numbered them, as the Lord commanded.

¹⁷And the sons of Levi were found, by their names, Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari;

¹⁸the sons of Gershon were Libni, and Shimei;

¹⁶So Moses counted them, as he was commanded by the word of the Lord.

¹⁷These were the names of the sons of Levi:^(A)

Gershon,^(B) Kohath^(C) and Merari.^(D)

¹⁸These were the names of the Gershonite clans:
