⁷ They fought against Midian, as the Lord commanded Moses,^(A) and killed every man.^(B)

⁹ The Israelites captured the Midianite women^(A) and children and took all the Midianite herds, flocks and goods as plunder.^(B)

¹¹ They took all the plunder and spoils, including the people and animals,^(A)

⁸ saying, “Return to your homes with your great wealth—with large herds of livestock,^(A) with silver, gold, bronze and iron,^(B) and a great quantity of clothing—and divide^(C) the plunder^(D) from your enemies with your fellow Israelites.”
