Numbers 32:21-23
New American Bible (Revised Edition)
21 and cross the Jordan in full force before the Lord until he has driven his enemies out of his way 22 and the land is subdued before the Lord, then you may return here, free from every obligation to the Lord and to Israel, and this land will be your possession before the Lord.(A) 23 But if you do not do this, you will have sinned against the Lord, and you can be sure that the consequences of your sin will overtake you.

New International Version
21 and if all of you who are armed cross over the Jordan before the Lord until he has driven his enemies out before him(A)— 22 then when the land is subdued before the Lord, you may return(B) and be free from your obligation to the Lord and to Israel. And this land will be your possession(C) before the Lord.(D)
23 “But if you fail to do this, you will be sinning against the Lord; and you may be sure that your sin will find you out.(E)
