New International Reader's Version
3 The Israelites started out from Rameses on the 15th day of the first month. It was the day after the Passover Feast. They marched out boldly in plain sight of all the Egyptians. 4 The Egyptians were burying all their oldest sons. The Lord had struck them down. He had done it when he punished their gods.
5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Sukkoth.

New International Version
3 The Israelites set out(A) from Rameses(B) on the fifteenth day of the first month, the day after the Passover.(C) They marched out defiantly(D) in full view of all the Egyptians, 4 who were burying all their firstborn,(E) whom the Lord had struck down among them; for the Lord had brought judgment(F) on their gods.(G)
5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Sukkoth.(H)
