The Penalty for Committing a Crime

If any of you commit a crime against someone, you have sinned against me. You must confess your guilt and pay the victim in full for whatever damage has been done, plus a fine of 20 percent.

Restitution for Wrongs

The Lord said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites: ‘Any man or woman who wrongs another in any way[a] and so is unfaithful(A) to the Lord is guilty(B) and must confess(C) the sin they have committed. They must make full restitution(D) for the wrong they have done, add a fifth of the value to it and give it all to the person they have wronged.
