Confession and Restitution

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: Speak to the Israelites: When a man or a woman wrongs another, breaking faith with the Lord, that person incurs guilt and shall confess the sin that has been committed. The person shall make full restitution for the wrong, adding one-fifth to it, and giving it to the one who was wronged.

Restitution for Wrongs

The Lord said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites: ‘Any man or woman who wrongs another in any way[a] and so is unfaithful(A) to the Lord is guilty(B) and must confess(C) the sin they have committed. They must make full restitution(D) for the wrong they have done, add a fifth of the value to it and give it all to the person they have wronged.
