¹² And he answered and said, ^(A)“Must I not take care to speak what the Lord puts in my mouth?”

¹⁶ And the Lord met Balaam and ^(A)put a word in his mouth and said, “Return to Balak, and thus shall you speak.”

³⁸ Balaam said to Balak, “Behold, I have come to you! Have I now any power of my own to speak anything? ^(A)The word that God puts in my mouth, that must I speak.”

^18 (A)I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. ^(B)And I will put my words in his mouth, and ^(C)he shall speak to them all that I command him.

²¹ “And as for me, ^(A)this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord: “My Spirit that is upon you, ^(B)and my words that I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your offspring, or out of the mouth of your children's offspring,” says the Lord, “from this time forth and for evermore.”
