¹⁰ The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them^(A) along with Korah, whose followers died when the fire devoured the 250 men.^(B) And they served as a warning sign.^(C)

¹² “Now then, please swear to me^(A) by the Lord that you will show kindness^(B) to my family, because I have shown kindness to you. Give me a sure sign^(C)

¹⁷ Gideon replied, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, give me a sign^(A) that it is really you talking to me.

¹⁴ Therefore the Lord himself will give you^[a] a sign:^(A) The virgin^[b](B) will conceive and give birth to a son,^(C) and^[c] will call him Immanuel.^[d](D)

¹⁸ Here am I, and the children the Lord has given me.^(A) We are signs^(B) and symbols^(C) in Israel from the Lord Almighty, who dwells on Mount Zion.^(D)

³ Then the Lord said, “Just as my servant^(A) Isaiah has gone stripped and barefoot for three years,^(B) as a sign^(C) and portent^(D) against Egypt^(E) and Cush,^[a](F)

²⁹ “‘This will be the sign^(A) to you that I will punish^(B) you in this place,’ declares the Lord, ‘so that you will know that my threats of harm against you will surely stand.’^(C)
