Offerings for the Feast of Trumpets

29 “On the first day of the seventh month you shall have a holy convocation. You shall not do any ordinary work. ^(A)It is a day for you to blow the trumpets,

²⁴ Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, should ^(A)blow the trumpets before the ark of God. ^(B)Obed-edom and Jehiah were to be gatekeepers for the ark.

¹² and all the Levitical ^(A)singers, ^(B)Asaph, ^(C)Heman, and Jeduthun, their sons and kinsmen, arrayed in fine linen, with ^(D)cymbals, harps, and lyres, stood east of the altar with 120 ^(E)priests who were trumpeters; ¹³ and it was the duty of the trumpeters and singers to make themselves heard in unison in praise and thanksgiving to the Lord), and when the song was raised, ^(F)with trumpets and cymbals and other musical instruments, in praise to the Lord,

the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud,

⁶ The priests stood at their posts; ^(A)the Levites also, with the instruments for music to the Lord that King David had made for giving thanks to the Lord—^(B)for his steadfast love endures forever—whenever David offered praises by their ministry;^{[a] (C)}opposite them the priests sounded trumpets, and all Israel stood.

²⁶ The Levites stood with ^(A)the instruments of David, ^(B)and the priests with the trumpets. ²⁷ Then Hezekiah commanded that the burnt offering be offered on the altar. And when the burnt offering began, ^(C)the song to the Lord began also, and the trumpets, accompanied by the instruments of David king of Israel. ²⁸ The whole assembly worshiped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded. All this continued until the burnt offering was finished.

¹⁰ And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests in their vestments came forward with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the Lord, ^(A)according to the directions of David king of Israel.

³⁵ and certain of the priests' sons ^(A)with trumpets: Zechariah the son of Jonathan, son of Shemaiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Micaiah, son of Zaccur, son of Asaph;
