¹⁰ And you shall appoint Aaron and his sons, and ^(A)they shall guard their priesthood. But if ^(B)any outsider comes near, he shall be put to death.”

³ Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord has said, ‘Among ^(A)those who are near me ^(B)I will be sanctified, and before all the people I will be glorified.’” ^(C)And Aaron held his peace.

⁴⁶ and the chamber that faces north is for the priests ^(A)who have charge of the altar. These are ^(B)the sons of Zadok, who alone^[a] among the sons of Levi may come ^(C)near to the Lord to minister to him.

Rules for Levitical Priests

¹⁵ “But ^(A)the Levitical priests, ^(B)the sons of Zadok, who kept ^(C)the charge of my sanctuary ^(D)when the people of Israel went astray from me, shall come near to me ^(E)to minister to me. And they shall stand before me to offer me ^(F)the fat and the blood, declares the Lord God. ¹⁶ They shall enter my sanctuary, and they shall approach ^(G)my table, to minister to me, and they shall keep my charge.
