6 who, existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.

6 Who, being in very nature[a] God,(A)
did not consider equality with God(B) something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing(C)
by taking the very nature[b] of a servant,(D)
being made in human likeness.(E)
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death(F)—
even death on a cross!(G)
