⁷ rather, he made himself nothing^(A)

    being made in human likeness.^(C)
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself
    by becoming obedient to death^(D)—
        even death on a cross!^(E)

⁹ Therefore God exalted him^(F) to the highest place
    and gave him the name that is above every name,^(G)

⁹ You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
    therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions^(A)
