16 Only, with regard to what we have attained, continue on the same course.[a]
Wrong Conduct and Our Goal.[b] 17 Join with others in being imitators of me,[c] brothers, and observe those who thus conduct themselves according to the model you have in us.(A) 18 For many, as I have often told you and now tell you even in tears, conduct themselves as enemies of the cross of Christ.(B)

16 Only let us live up to what we have already attained.
17 Join together in following my example,(A) brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do.(B) 18 For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears,(C) many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.(D)
