Proverbs 10:16-18

¹⁶What good people do brings life, but wicked people produce only sin.

¹⁷Those who accept correction show others how to live. Those who reject correction lead others the wrong way.

¹⁸People sometimes lie to hide their hatred, but saying bad things about someone is even more foolish.

Proverbs 10:16-18

New International Version

¹⁶The wages of the righteous is life,^(A)
but the earnings of the wicked are sin and death.^(B)

¹⁷Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life,^(C)
but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.

¹⁸Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips^(D)
and spreads slander is a fool.

¹⁶The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.

¹⁷He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.

¹⁸He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
