Proverbs 14:11-13

¹¹The wicked person’s house will be destroyed.
But a good person’s tent will still be standing.

¹²Some people think they are doing what’s right.
But what they are doing will really kill them.

¹³When someone is laughing, he may be sad inside.
And when the laughter is over, there is sorrow.

but the tent of the upright will flourish.^(B)

¹²There is a way that appears to be right,^(C)
but in the end it leads to death.^(D)

¹³Even in laughter^(E) the heart may ache,
and rejoicing may end in grief.
