Proverbs 19:15-17

New Living Translation

¹⁵Lazy people sleep soundly,
but idleness leaves them hungry.

¹⁶Keep the commandments and keep your life;
despising them leads to death.

¹⁷If you help the poor, you are lending to the Lord—
and he will repay you!

Proverbs 19:15-17

¹⁵Laziness brings on deep sleep,
and the shiftless go hungry.^(A)

¹⁶Whoever keeps commandments keeps their life,
but whoever shows contempt for their ways will die.^(B)

¹⁷Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord,^(C)
