Proverbs 19:4-6

⁴Wealth makes many friends,
but the poor is separated from his neighbor.

⁵A false witness will not be unpunished,
and he who speaks lies will not escape.

⁶Many will entreat the favor of the prince,
and every man is a friend to him who gives gifts.

New International Version

⁴Wealth attracts many friends,
but even the closest friend of the poor person deserts them.^(A)

⁵A false witness^(B) will not go unpunished,^(C)
and whoever pours out lies will not go free.^(D)

⁶Many curry favor with a ruler,^(E)
