¹¹When a pestilent man is punished, the little one will be wiser: and if he follow the wise, he will receive knowledge.

¹²The just considereth seriously the house of the wicked, that he may withdraw the wicked from evil.

¹³He that stoppeth his ear against the cry of the poor, shall also cry himself and shall not be heard.

Proverbs 21:11-13

New International Version

¹¹When a mocker is punished, the simple gain wisdom;
by paying attention to the wise they get knowledge.^(A)

¹²The Righteous One^[a] takes note of the house of the wicked
and brings the wicked to ruin.^(B)

¹³Whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor
will also cry out^(C) and not be answered.^(D)
