Proverbs 21:11-13

Good News Translation

¹¹When someone who is conceited gets his punishment, even an unthinking person learns a lesson. One who is wise will learn from what he is taught.

¹²God, the righteous one, knows what goes on in the homes of the wicked, and he will bring the wicked down to ruin.

¹³If you refuse to listen to the cry of the poor, your own cry for help will not be heard.

Proverbs 21:11-13

New International Version

¹¹When a mocker is punished, the simple gain wisdom;
by paying attention to the wise they get knowledge.^(A)

¹²The Righteous One^[a] takes note of the house of the wicked
and brings the wicked to ruin.^(B)

¹³Whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor
will also cry out^(C) and not be answered.^(D)
