11 [a]When the scorner is punished, the foolish is wise, and when one instructeth the wise, he will receive knowledge.

12 The righteous [b]teacheth the house of the wicked; but God overthroweth the wicked for their evil.

13 He that stoppeth his ear at the crying of the poor, he shall also cry and not be heard.

11 When a mocker is punished, the simple gain wisdom;
    by paying attention to the wise they get knowledge.(A)

12 The Righteous One[a] takes note of the house of the wicked
    and brings the wicked to ruin.(B)

13 Whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor
    will also cry out(C) and not be answered.(D)
