²⁴Proud people think they are better than others. They show they are evil by what they do.

New International Version

²²One who is wise can go up against the city of the mighty^(A)
and pull down the stronghold in which they trust.

²³Those who guard their mouths^(B) and their tongues
keep themselves from calamity.^(C)

²⁴The proud and arrogant person^(D)—“Mocker” is his name—
behaves with insolent fury.
