Proverbs 21:23-25

²³He that keepeth his mouth and his tongue (under control), keepeth his soul from anguishes.

²⁴A proud man and (a) boaster is called a fool, (for) that (he) worketh (his) pride in ire.

²⁵Desires slay a slow man; for his hands would not (do) work (of) anything. (Desires shall slay a lazy person; for his hands shall not do any work.)

New International Version

²³Those who guard their mouths^(A) and their tongues
keep themselves from calamity.^(B)

²⁴The proud and arrogant person^(C)—“Mocker” is his name—
behaves with insolent fury.

²⁵The craving of a sluggard will be the death of him,^(D)
because his hands refuse to work.
