Proverbs 22:6-8

Good News Translation

⁶^(A)Teach children how they should live, and they will remember it all their life.

⁷Poor people are slaves of the rich. Borrow money and you are the lender's slave.

⁸If you plant the seeds of injustice, disaster will spring up, and your oppression of others will end.

Proverbs 22:6-8

New International Version

⁶Start^(A) children off on the way they should go,^(B)
and even when they are old they will not turn from it.^(C)

⁷The rich rule over the poor,
and the borrower is slave to the lender.

⁸Whoever sows injustice reaps calamity,^(D)
and the rod they wield in fury will be broken.^(E)
