Proverbs 22:8-10

Young's Literal Translation

⁸Whoso is sowing perverseness reapeth sorrow, And the rod of his anger weareth out.

⁹The good of eye -- he is blessed, For he hath given of his bread to the poor.

¹⁰Cast out a scorner -- and contention goeth out, And strife and shame cease.

Proverbs 22:8-10

New International Version

⁸Whoever sows injustice reaps calamity,^(A)
and the rod they wield in fury will be broken.^(B)

⁹The generous will themselves be blessed,^(C)
for they share their food with the poor.^(D)

¹⁰Drive out the mocker, and out goes strife;
quarrels and insults are ended.^(E)
