Proverbs 28:12-14

¹²When righteous men rejoice, there is great glory;
but when the wicked rise, a man hides himself.

¹³He who covers his sins will not prosper,
but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

¹⁴Happy is the man who always fears,
but he who hardens his heart will fall into mischief.

¹²When the righteous triumph, there is great elation;^(A)
but when the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding.^(B)

¹³Whoever conceals their sins^(C) does not prosper,
but the one who confesses^(D) and renounces them finds mercy.^(E)
