Proverbs 28:15-17

¹⁵A wicked ruler over a helpless people^(A)
is like a roaring lion or a charging bear.^(B)

¹⁶A leader who lacks understanding
is very oppressive,
but one who hates dishonest profit
prolongs his life.^(C)

¹⁷A man burdened by bloodguilt^[a]
will be a fugitive until death.^(D)
Let no one help him.^(E)

¹⁶A tyrannical ruler practices extortion,
but one who hates ill-gotten gain will enjoy a long reign.

¹⁷Anyone tormented by the guilt of murder

let no one hold them back.
