Proverbs 29:13-15

¹³The poor person and the ·cruel person [oppressor] are alike
in that the Lord gave light to the eyes of both of them.

¹⁴If a king judges poor people ·fairly [in truth; reliably],
his ·government [^Lthrone] will ·continue [be established] forever.

¹⁵Correction and ·punishment [^Lthe rod] make children wise,
but those ·left alone [unsupervised] will disgrace their mother.

¹³The poor and the oppressor have this in common:
The Lord gives sight to the eyes of both.^(A)

¹⁴If a king judges the poor with fairness,
his throne will be established forever.^(B)

¹⁵A rod and a reprimand impart wisdom,
but a child left undisciplined disgraces its mother.^(C)
