Proverbs 29:3-5

International Children’s Bible

³Whoever loves wisdom makes his father happy.
But the one who makes friends with prostitutes wastes his money.

⁴If a king is fair, he makes his country strong.
But if he takes money dishonestly, he tears his country down.

⁵Anyone who gives false praise to his neighbor
is setting a trap for him.

Proverbs 29:3-5

³A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father,^(A)
but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.^(B)

⁴By justice a king gives a country stability,^(C)
but those who are greedy for^[a] bribes tear it down.

⁵Those who flatter their neighbors
are spreading nets for their feet.^(D)

³Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.

⁴The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.

⁵A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.
