⁴⁹ and starts to beat his fellow slaves, and eats and drinks with drunkards,^(A)

The Need for Watchfulness

³⁴ “Be on your guard,^(A) so that your minds are not dulled^[a] from carousing,^[b] drunkenness,^(B) and worries of life,^(C) or that day will come on you unexpectedly^(D)

¹³ Let us walk with decency,^(A) as in the daylight: not in carousing and drunkenness;^(B) not in sexual impurity and promiscuity; not in quarreling and jealousy.

¹⁸ And don’t get drunk^(A) with wine,^(B) which leads to reckless actions, but be filled by the Spirit:^(C)
