8 They lurk in dark alleys of the city and murder passersby. 9 Like lions they crouch silently, waiting to pounce upon the poor. Like hunters they catch their victims in their traps. 10 The unfortunate are overwhelmed by their superior strength and fall beneath their blows.

8 He lies in wait(A) near the villages;
from ambush he murders the innocent.(B)
His eyes watch in secret for his victims;
9 like a lion in cover he lies in wait.
He lies in wait to catch the helpless;(C)
he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net.(D)
10 His victims are crushed,(E) they collapse;
they fall under his strength.
